Education outside the classroom
Every year, staff at Chapel Downs look for ways to enhance students’ learning through the Education Outside the Classroom Programme. The EOTC programme varies to fit the needs of the students, the topics being studied in class and the resources available in our community. EOTC provides relevant, meaningful learning in an authentic context and trips are organised for individuals, small groups and full classes.
A highlight is the Year 6 camp held at Tui Ridge Park near Rotorua. Students try activities such as archery, abseiling, a high ropes course, flying fox, bush skills and learn about team building.
